Contains letters from Captain Samuel Harding, a ship commander, to owners of the various ships. The letters cover prices and rates of exchange on various cargos, mostly cotton, hay, potatoes, raisins, onions, beans, salt, tobacco, and rum; the stae of the markets for various cargos; reports from various ports, mostly Savannah, New Orleans and Mobile in the United States and Trieste, Liverpool, and Havre, in Europe; accounts and bills of ships expenses; and Captain Hardings inquiries about the purchase of a share in a ship and correspondence about the terms of his employment.

One letter book and some loose pages.
